Listen to a few snippets and I think you will agree. Touching base on real and fake, right and wrong and living your life the way you want regardless of what others try and do to hold you back….Truly a great artist, with a powerful message.”There is a feature interview with Kaoz also in the works for the Music Is My Middle Name blog and more features on other websites as well.

  • BGG Interviews: Hip-Hop & Spoken Word Lyricist “KAOZ”

    kaoz-interview

“Now, I like to talk about stuff that people don’t normally talk about,” Kaoz warns listeners during the intro of his song “AntiOut”.  A rapper and lyricist,  Kevin “Kaoz” Moore is unwilling to be defined by his sexuality, using his music and spoken word to vocalize the issues and stereotypes of the African-American gay male.  With his latest effort, “The Tyler Durden EP,” Kaoz explores everyday issues while placing emphasis on his own personal obstacles, but speaks on topics that all people can relate too – relationships, sex, lies, drugs and clubs.  I was able to catch up with Kaoz briefly to discuss “The Tyler Durden EP” and here’s what he had to say…..

BGG: So what made you decide to become an “openly gay” rapper/lyricist?

Kaoz: In the beginning with spoken word and hip-hop I never put my sexuality into the equation, but then I realized that the LGBT community was the ones that supported me.  I decided I was no longer going to hide.  I’m about growth, evolving.  I recently performed with Brooklyn’s own, Shorty Roc at Harlem’s 1st gay pride festival, as well as New York’s pride festival, which supported the upcoming LGBT network GLO TV.  Ihave to give back to our community.  I owe them.

    BGG: Who is “Tyler Durden”?

KAOZ - THE TYLER DURDEN EP/MIXTAPE - REVIEW BY REX STONE

    WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11, 2010

Kaoz - The Tyler Durden EP! (listen here)

Sometimes people confuse rap and spoken word and you get a misconception of the two. Although on the debut mix-tape from Cleveland native KAOZ…”The Tyler Durden EP” there is no mistaking that this lyrical artist is a natural talent at both. From the lyrics, the production, the beats, etc. this whole album shines from beginning to end!

Foolz - LoL, my thoughts exactly!
I Loved Loosey - Spoken word, not rap but I got the message!
Just Like You - The singing wasn’t bad at all, nice song!
Never Sleep - This is a great song, lyrical masterpiece!
No Hook (pt.1) - Your definitely a rapper, no doubt about it!
No Hook (pt.2) - Damn your spit game is on point!
The Boy Next Door - Great message, wish it had a beat to it!
Thievez In The Temple - Good without being preachy!
This Is Me (ft. Damien Nova) - Loved the track, singing was okay!
Walk Away (ft. Damien Nova) - This is the song that sets you apart from the others!
White Girl - Your delivery is sick on this, loved how the beat changed with the song!

Kaoz - I am juiced about hearing what else you have coming out because this was fire! I think this is more of an album because you have more than 8 songs but call it what you want it’s bananas! I think that every song sounded as if there was a lot of effort put into it and they come off fantastic. Even the singing on the album was good and it’s hard to find in OHH! You really have everything you need from lyrics, to delivery, swag, just the whole package. I highly anticipate your full album!!

I am giving this mix-tape 4 Stones because it’s the hottest thing out now!!!

******OMI NOTE: Rex Stone actually reviewed “The Tyler Durden EP.” The actual “Mix-Tape,” (the second half of the project) will be released later this month”*****
